    22 Target

That little white ball that a lot of people chase around the Golf Course?
Well I think it's better suited as a target. Whata think?
Just picked up 100 used one for $20.

After playing with my balls some more came up with this.
    Back Yard 50 yd range.

Impact from 22 LR CCI mini mags
Balls just spin around when hit

      Be careful of the ricochets.

Very curious to see how reactive a golf ball is when hit with a .22LR.

            Balls are very reactive.

              Great idea T1952.
Some years ago I was frustrated that most steel flippers we made would just get hole punched by a 7.62 x 39. So I worked my way up to 5/8" thick steel for the flip disc (we're in the metal fab business) Worked great, finally something that would stop the 39s....well one day after we burned up our AK ammo, we broke out the 22s. First 50 rounds or so all is good...then I made a shot while the disc was still rocking and a minimag ricoched back striking me in the shoulder. Lucky I had a thick coat on that day. It barely broke the skin, but it put an end to shooting these targets with a 22. Let us know how yours work in the long term.

I don't think there,s and issue with ricochets and golf balls. As you see I have old 4 X 6's as backup and behind that is a 5/8" steel plate.
As the balls get more hits it's easy to replace them and used balls are cheap.

Might want to play with your balls a little more but you're on to something

We started doing the same thing at the range I shoot at. There are four of us shooting at a set of golf balls that will swing when hit. I am amazed on how many hits they will take before falling apart. Most ammo is 22 subsonic or 17HMR.
Lots of fun, much more so than just punching holes in paper.

Would drilling a hole all the way through, then hanging with twine work? Are ricochets coming from the golf ball or the metal screws?

Twine does not seen to hold up well. We use #12 screws and light gauge wire.
As long as you set then up to swing, there should be little chance of a ricochet.

Paintballs are fun. They splatter nicely with color against a cardboard background. And they're easy to tape either hanging or against the cardboard.

And biodegradable so no triggering from the SJW's.

And we do golf ball games at our range.

Put a ball on the ground at the 25yd line and whoever shoots their ball across the 100yd line in the least amount of shots wins.

Hit it dead center and it will go about 40 yds.

                            Fun times.

I point my .45 ACP 1911 in up, place golf ball onto top of barrel, raise it above my head, pull trigger. Golf balls fly. Slug goes through it, but balls fly. Lots of fun.

                              I don't care if it blows the gun up. It's a Llama 1911 .45.
