    CZ 99

I'm new to this forum and have a question on a CZ Rifle. I picked up a new CZ Model #99, .22 bolt action, clip feed rifle from Cabela's back in February.
Upon shooting it the first time after 10-15 rounds had been fired it failed to eject the spent casing. Being new I took it back and had them do an exchange, as they still had 2 on the rack.
After shooting the second rifle I could see the extractors weren't alot better then the first gun. I was going to have work done by a Gunsmith friend, so I had him look at it before going thru returning the second rifle. He mentioned that the extractor groove in the barrel was not deep enough, just barely catching the casing rim. He was able to repair it, avoiding another exchange.
Has anyone one else experienced this type of problem? These were brand new rifles.
    Thanks,
    csb

Have you tried a different brand of ammo?

      ^^^^Agree.

Some of the plinker ammo is more variable in diameter and difficult to extract.

Buy several kinds including CCI Minimags and standard velocity and see what happens.

Good luck and please let us know.

        PM sent. Need
The usual issue that causes the extraction problem is the left side extractor that has sharp edges. The inner point and the edges need rounding, which is a simple matter.
These little guns are really nice and usually very accurate, but are often a diamond in the rough.

I Hope you realize what you have is not a Czech CZ but Yugoslavian CZ which is NOT the quality of the true CZ. Although it may be a beautiful firearm the quality is often hit and miss.
