Brand New 10/22, What To Do?

I've never bought a brand new gun, I have some revolvers, some semi-autos (including rifles), and one bolt action rifle. Is there anything I need to do with my new 10/22 TakeDown the first time or before I take it to the range?

Clean it, familiarize yourself with its function, shoot it.

If theres something you don't like about it, there is an aftermarket replacement for everything on it.

    Enjoy.

Replace every factory part with something else. Build a new one with the leftovers. Repeat.

Exactly what mnichols said. Everything else can come later.

              - Order three more magazines (I ordered six)

              - Field strip it, put gun oil where you think it should be (where the moving parts).
              - Shoot 300-500 rds before field strip and clean again.
( I field strip and clean my 10/22 TD after every box (325 rds) ammo or the 500 rds of CCI).

                Shoot it
                Shoot it
                Shoot it

                Repeat as often as possible

                  Buy more magazines.

Buy a Volquartzen extractor for it.

Buy a Volquartzen match hammer for it.

                  Buy more magazines.

You'll be needing some more magazines.

                  Did I mention magazines?

Be sure to adjust the barrel collar nut as described in the manual before shooting.
A loose collar can cause function and / or accuracy problems.

I just picked up my M&P 15-22 from jail yesterday and it took me a good while to clean up all the gunk that was leftover from manufacturing/preserving. I could not believe how much was in the barrel!!
