How tight do I need torque this thing? I know alignment is part of the equation but does it need to be as tight as an ar barrel nut?

Is this a barrel nut for a shotgun mag extension? its possible that people do not have a answer to your question and you're asking in the Rimfire sectin
Finger-tight, enough to hold the forearm tightly onto the barrel w/o movement.
If you cannot do that, its possible you may have the wrong nut.Last edited by Fatcat; 04-02-2017, 12:24 PM.Comment

If you are talking about the Nordic free floating handguard for 22LR AR rfiles, you can tighten it until it is snug. Since a 22LR doesn't have a gas tube, you don't need to align anything.
I have a Nordic free floating handgaud on my 9mm AR, and I just made it snug. The 9mm doesn't use a gas tube either. I din;t have to align anything.
