Just got my first 22. Well first and second...

So I guess this is my introduction to the rimfire world.

Got both of these 10/22s yesterday. I got both of em from a good friend of mine for a good price so I figured why not. According to the serial numbers one was manufactured between 1972 and 73 while the other was manufactured in 96.

Upon taking them home I decided to give em both a good cleaning. The older one which has a bushnell scope on it was a little gummed while to my surprise the newer one seemed to have barely been fired.

Guess I'll be taking these to the local range this weekend.

Originally I already had plans of just using the receiver for the older (using older one because I am giving newer one to a friend) one and just build one from the ground up while storing everything else. Then it turned into just upgrade the trigger with a drop in or buy another group and send it to brimstone. Now Im thinking of just buying a 455 with the amount of money i would have spent on upgrades and occasionally bringing the 10/22 out.

Plus buying the 455 would make more sense to me cause the whole intention with me buying a 22 was to see how far I could shoot it and Im kind of in a bolt action craze right now hahaha.

I have both this and a 455 - the 452 is a bit better accuracy, the 455 is more versatile because you can swap barrels and shoot .22lr, .22 magnum, or .17HMR.
