    HK/Umarex MP5 A2 fixed stock install

Since Umarex is no longer producing the A2 fixed stock for their MP5 22LR, I purchased a used real MP5 A2 stock. Whether it is a genuine HK or it is for MP5 9mm clone, I am not real sure. But certainly the quality is better than a cheap airsoft stock. I could tell, because the insert in the inside of the stock was metal, and pretty tough to dremel away.

The distance from the outside of the left pathway for the rails to the outside of the right pathway is 1 inch exactly on the mp5 22LR. However the distance on the genuine stock between the guide rails is 1 and 5/32 inch. So it just meant dremeling off 5/32 inch total, or 5/64 inch off of each sides. It is just plastic so it dremeled off quickly.

After that the stock inserted easily, except the pin hole did not match up exactly. It wasn't drastically off, but enough that the pin would not insert. This portion of the hole was reinforced with a metal insert, so it was more resistant to my aluminum oxide grinding stone. I ended up taking my round metal file and opened up the hole just enough so the pin would insert. I'll admit that is not an aesthetically pleasing looking hole that I widened with the file. But I don't own safe queens.

Voila..A2 stock for the MP5 22LR. Very snug fit, with no wiggle at all. I believe the GSG is different so I don't know if the a2 stock can be dremeled for the GSG.

Cool - good to know. I would think having a proper cheek weld, along with a fully co-witnessed red dot would make this gun more accurate.

For me though, I like the collapsible stock and I deliberately have my red dot not co-witnessed so no cheek weld is necessary. It's accurate enough for me lol.

Yes Just mark 5/64 on each side with a sharpie so you keep the dremelling balanced on each side.

Just take a little bit off at a time. And then fit the stock and keep going. You'll want a snug fit. The material dremmels off quickly
