Kimber Rimfire Rifles?

Hello all...I looked through the older threads and it doesn't seem there is much discussion on Kimber's rimfire rifles. As a matter of fact, it doesn't seem there is much discussion of the on any forum and if there is, it's usually the 82 Government.

For those who have them, how do you find them to shoot compared to the other rimfires, Anschutz, Cooper, Sako etc...? Recently, I've been on a search for a K22 SVT and while there are several available, many are priced much higher than other brands which are known for their accuracy.

I'd like to add one to my safe, but would be terribly disappointed if it didn't shoot well. Are these rifles that accurate or is this just a case of seller's asking high prices due to a small supply?

I have a model 82 and have shot a couple of Anschutz. The only advantage of the german rifle is the ability to set trigger pull down to a few ounces.

I would ask
1. How good do you want the rifle to shoot - MOA?
2. How much do you want to spend on ammo?
3. How far and how windy is your application?

Beyond 50 yards the ability to read a cross wind can eclipse the rifle and ammo.

Kimber rifles made in Oregon are top shelf ...and their steady rise in price reflects it. Extremely well made accurate rifles. Is it more accurate then an Anschutz or a 40x Sporter .... thats open to debate. I found no better then the old Kimbers for the combo of quality of materials, wood, features and workmanship.

Next is the Cooper....same quality, materials and workmanship as the Oregon Kimbers....and the same current price as the old Kimbers are going for too.
Cooper worked at Kimber of Oragon and started whem Kimber closed and sold, so its no surprise that the quality was forwarded to his rifles

Kimber of America has dropped the quality quite a bit IMHO and I would not buy one over the old Kimbers or Anschutz.

Now we are talking "Sporters" not "Target"
