10/22 facelift

Thinking about getting this kit for my 10/22 here is ebay link for picture http://m.ebay.com/itm/Green-Mountain...%257Ciid%253A2 the kit I'm looking at comes with the stock. Fined barrel, and sights. I have already upgraded the trigger a while back. gun will mostly be used from 25 to 100 yards max. What say you?

That stock and barrel copies the Reising SMG. If you like the old type look, you can get Thompson kits also.

ojisan has the Thompson's and accessories.

That's a good deal for the package, if nothing more than to get a discount on the barrel, which does go great with my Kits.
So I ordered one.
LOL.

FYI: I already have one of these barrels.
The shank of the barrel where it goes into the receiver was a little too large in diameter to fit into several receivers that I tried.
This is good from an accuracy standpoint as you can get a tight fit to the receiver after fitting the shank.
You can use a strip of emery cloth to reduce the shank size so it barely fits in.
I clamped the barrel in a vice and make a few strokes with emery cloth, then spun the barrel 90 degrees and made a few more strokes.
Repeat as needed keeping your pressure and number of strokes even each time you turn the barrel.
If you have a lathe that will hold a gun barrel, that's a lot easier of course.

I have one of Oji's Thompson kits and the GM barrel.

It's tits, but I had to replace the sights with Tech Sights and an adapter because inaccurate rifles aren't interesting.

Not for me. I need a longer stock for my reach, but if you like it - go for it. That's one of the neat things about 10/22's - you can dress 'em up in so many different ways.
