    GSG 1911-22 Expert help needed!!

Ok fellow Patriots, I need some help/guideance. I purchased a new GSG 1911-22 (serial number starts with A) with a thousand rounds through the pipe! I SCROUNGED the entire internet for help. Here's what I've done so far PRIOR TO SHOOTING:

    1. Polished off all of the overspray paint throughout entire pistol.
    2. Polished mag lips, polished the feed ramp.
    3. Installed CW PES components and Dawson sights
    4. Oiled the pistol prior to use
    5. Shot 500 rounds of CCI MiniMags, another 500 of Golden Bullets and Fed Auto
    6. Pistol double loads/feeds first two to three rounds
    7. Stove pipes, two per 30 rounds
    8. When it shoots, it shoots very good.

Other possible solutions that I've found:

    1. Snip 2 to 3 elbows off the magazine. Some say the spring is too strong.
    2. Oil it till it drips
    3. Clean the feed ramp every 300 rounds

I read many comments from fellow shooters that:
    1. Their pistiol shot perfectly out of the box.
    2. After polishing off the overspray, it shot 100 percent
    3. After installing the CW PES components, it shot 100 percent

WITH MY PISTOL; WHAT THE HECK DO I DO NOW???? HELP!!!

Buy another magazine and try again. I bought new and it's 100%. Got a second mag and it's good too.
    Good luck.

My first GSG was built with such tight tolerances that just a little bit of gunk would cause it to not lock up properly. But when it shot, it was my most accurate 22, that would almost rival my Buckmark.

I removed the overspray, purchased all CWS products. But nothing worked. So finally I saw the GSG conversion kit on eBay, and bought it, and outright replaced the entire bolt assembly and that fixed my lock up issues.

My 2nd GSG was built with loser tolerances that it never had the lock up problems, but it also did not shoot as accurately.
I really enjoy the GSG, but it is a bit of playing the lottery of what type of pot metal luck you are going to receive when you open the box.

Mine runs perfectly for 160 rounds or so, then it likes its mouth cleaned. 30 year old Rem brass-plated HP. The curved brush that comes with the gun will do it.
I haven't bothered to polish mine yet. 1,000 rds or so through it. Serial A744xxx.
        Really enjoy the pistol.

Mine needed hot ammo. It cycled fine with Mini-Mag but barely cycled with Auto Match. It choked up on several brands of bulk. I got a standard strength recoil spring and guide rod from CW and was able to run bulk ammo (not 100% but far better than stock).

The suggestion of trying another mag is a good one, if it's the problem then you will have found the answer, if not, you can never have too many magazines.

Can you use a brand new magazine? Try it this way first.

Then, can you remove the PES and install the OEM parts? Then, if that does not help, use a brand new magazine? See if this works.

            Hopefully either one helps.

I bought three additional mags and the issues persisted. Here's my next solution via process of elimation.
              1. Cut 2 to 3 elbows off one of the mags. If this works, the rest of the 3 mags gets snipped. If it's a no go- -

              2. Put the OEM parts and see how that goes.

I have 4 GSG mags. I took them apart and cleaned them. All 4 function just fine.

Thanks! Took your advise and cleaned them. Easiest mags to dissassemble. Wish me luck!

FYI, I was so dissappointed with the GSG 1911-22 that I bought a Henry Frontier 22 while at BassPro last night! Gun addiction is vicious.

Call ATI. The GSG 1911 has a limited lifetime warranty. ATI will pay shipping both ways.

IMO ATI has excellent customer service. Give them a call.

I've had two of these, never had problems with the mags. I don't recommend
cutting the springs, try a different mag. The mags are pretty solid, weight wise
and have given me good service ( 5 mags). The shorty pistol has had some
teething pains but has since smoothed out,the full size never gave me any
issues. That was using several brands of ammo including bulk stuff. YMMV
I've reworked the triggers on both to 2.5 lbs with no creep. They aren't
target guns but are very accurate.
