Support hand glove and sling suggestions (rimfire competition)

So i tried my hand at my first rimfire shoot this weekend and it was a blast. It was 5x10shot rounds, 2 prone (1 slow, 1 rapid), 2 sitting/kneeling and 1 off hand. I scored pretty badly at 361 but i wasn't last place I did have 3 saved rounds that I couldn't get off in time (bolt action) and I had a weird double vision problem from the scope/glasses i was using (reading glasses...) in the prone position. My best round was standing off hand where I scored a 91/100 with 2 X's.

I noticed everyone used a sling and the top shooters all had a support glove. I had no idea about this (i thought prone was from a bipod...).

Any suggestions on what to get? It seems both items would drastically help me stabilize the gun for better accuracy. I have a savage Mk2 FV-SR FWIW.

    Thank you

Thats a very good off hand score for first timer or any one. I use a Savage MK2 for small bore also. A sling will make a big difference in prone, sitting and a bit in kneeling. Didn't some of the others have shooting coats, mats and spotting scopes? It gets expensive but you can use the same gear for high power matches.

A bit iffy getting the right size glove and coat online. I do have Creedmor gear but also look at ChampionsChoice or MidwayUSA.

And everyone was shooting subsonic - RIGHT.

Yes, some guys had everything I've ever heard of and some had just a old tube rifle with iron sights. I don't think i'm going to get a special coat yet, glove and sling for sure. It's very informal with the events I'm going to (they also have leagues) and it was mostly a use whatever you wanted for ammo etc. I'll check out the other two places, i've bought from Midway a few times

Creedmore Sports has been around for decades, and is known for good quality target shooting equipment. I started buying from them back in the mid 80's when they were Creedmore Armory located in Oceanside, CA. You won't go wrong buying from them.

I use a Champions Choice sling:

No need to get pro equipment to start. you could go with an inexpensive 1907 sling, or web sling to start. For a glove, you could get a heavy work glove. It helps protect the back of your support wrist from the sling pressure.

Unless you need glasses for astigmatism, use clear eye pro and adjust the scope for your vision. If you do need glasses constantly, get single vision pair. Bifocals don't work well since in the various positions your cheekweld changes thus placing your eyeglasses in a different spot.
