    NAA Customer Service

I have owned a North American Arms 22LR Mini Revolver for over 15 years now. In all this time the bullets would "key hole" at any range over 7 feet. OK, so it's not exactly a Colt Python, but it would be nice to have a nice spiraling bullet to stabilize it for a little truer flight. I finally decided to call NAA about this problem and ask if anything could be done. They said no problem, send the gun overnight UPS or FedEx and we can crown the barrel which usually fixes the situation. I sent it overnight FedEx ($56.65!) to Utah on the 13th of December and waited. The gun arrived today the 28th FedEx. All I needed was to show picture ID and sign for it. Well, the crowned the barrel alright, just not my old barrel. A completely new crowned barrel and the following parts were replaced:
    main screw
    cylinder
    cylinder bolt
    bolt spring
    trigger
    trigger spring
    bolt pin
    sight
    hammer
    hand
    hand spring
    index pin
    index spring
I had mentioned to the tech that the barrel was a little loose on lock up which could also be part of the key holing problem or at least accuracy such as it is with a tiny gun like this one. The grips and the frame are all that is left to the original gun! Now that's customer service.

Met them at Shot Show last year, great bunch of people. I went out and bought one like yours. It's really fun to shoot! Glad they took care of you.

Nice. I always like reading good customer service stories.

Perhaps your I should send them an email about, and a link to this thread.
      Sorry, not sorry.

Did the new barrel/crown help correct the key holing issue?

I got mine from a buddy many years back. He had picked it up on a trade. I was looking at a holster grip and noticed they had a new nocked cylinder so you could load it completely and not carry with the hammer on a round. I call to see how much it would cost, telling them I was at least the 3rd owner. They said send it in and they would do it for free. Great turn around time too. Definitely great customer service.

Yea, they're fantastic. I have a .22 short from 1992 - and am at least the 3rd owner, although when I got it it looked brand new. Anyway, it decided to have problems advancing the cylinder after I put about 150 rds through it.

Sent it back, and like the OP, the list of things they did NOT replace was far shorter than the list of things they DID. I'm now at 175 rds post rebuild with zero problems.

Finally got out the local indoor range today with this gun. I was using Remington Golden Bullets. This thing kicks like the devil with high velocity rounds. It bit my thumb, the hammer I thing during recoil. The keyholing has stopped! Crowning the barrel is the cure. The keyholing stopped at 7 feet, 15 feet and I wish I could tell you at 25 feet, but I could not hit the target at that distance. Found out at 15 feet it was shooting high and to the left. After adjusting for this, I could at least keep it on paper. A long range weapon this gun will never be. Other than that it's still fun to shoot and it always gets a smile from others at the range.
