    My High Standard pistols :-(

I do not know why people praise the High Standard pistol so much.
I had two High Standard Sport King pistols.
    - One of them just broken the trigger/sear spring or whatever at the range. I kept shooting suddenly the trigger did not "click" or en-gear to the.... no more, the trigger is moving back and forth but nothing happens. BTW, I never can shoot more than 40 rounds (same mag) without a jam.
    - The other one is always shooting low, and a jam-o-matic, I had 4 magazines and a magazine tuning tool. Whatever I tune I never can shoot more than 20 rds (with the same mag) without a jam.

When I bring my two HS to the range, I spend more time to adjust/tune the magazines and unjam the round than to shoot. But I still don't understand why people still praise the High Standard.
One more note: I tried with all kind of ammo: CCI mini mag, CCI standard velocity, Elly, Eagle ..... and all kind of bulks ammo such as Automatch. So I don't thing ammo is the culprit.

Where was your SportKings made? I grew up shooting one and I really don't ever recall it jamming.

I have a Hamden Sport King and a Hartford Victor. I haven't shot the Sport King that much, but I used the Victor as a bullseye pistol for a couple of years. I only use standard velocity target ammo, about 1050 feet per second, lead round nose ammo.

It took a while to tune the mags and match them to my ammo. I used Aguila SE with a 40 grain bullet for practice and Wolf Match Target for shooting matches. For bullseye you only fire 5-shot strings so you only load 5 rounds in each mag. 90 shots per match without a hitch.

After take a look closely at the HS Sport King, I believe the problem of the FTFeed is causing by the pistol does NOT have the FEED RAM.
          - The lower part of firing pin (ammo pusher ?), push the ammo about half way of the mag.
          - Then the spring from the mag. push the ammo upward to outside of the mag.
          - At this moment the ammo is in the free fall state and must align "right-on-the-money" with the barrel hole (chamber ?). So the lower part of the
firing pin push the ammo to the chamber.
So the following factors may contribute to the FTFeed problem.
          - The bending part of the mag. that to hold ammo in the mag, that where most people adjust, the more to used the wider it to be , need to be re-adjust.
          - The mag. feeder angle is not right due to tear&wear.
          - The mag. spring is not strong enough due to tear&wear.
          - The weight of the ammo.
          - The material of the bullet copper coast or lead.
Just a guess. BTW, I am NOT a gunsmith.
