I bought a CZ455 a couple years ago. Came with .22LR and .17HMR barrels. I decided to buy the 22WMR conversion kit to "complete" the set.

Put a nice Leupold scope on it. Liked it so much in .22LR it took months before I finally put the 22 Mag barrel on it. Accurate and reliable, finally understood why 22 mag has a loyal following.

After about a year, finally tried it in .17HMR (which was what I actually bought it for). Discovered the need for higher magnification scope.

Great rifle, all 3 barrels accurate. A CZ455 in 22 mag would be a great choice, that could be switched to another caliber if you needed to.

The Ruger American Rifle in .22 WMR is particularly accurate.

A free tip for accuracy. A dirty barrel will shoot better then a freshly cleaned barrel. I only run a brush every 250 rds. If you run a swab run it damp only and follow by 10 fouling shots before targeting again.
Always shoot lead, platted rounds are for autos.
        I like Savages too.

I've got a Mark II FSS.

        It's my favorite .22 rifle.

I've been reading the specs for Savage's new line of .22s.

The new bolt actions and autoloaders have steel receivers, synthetic stocks, AccuTriggers, and rotary magazines.

Their receiver-to-barrel setup uses a threaded barrel, threaded receiver, and barrel nut.

        Stainless models are available.

I think these new Savages are gonna be terrific rifles.

        HAPPY NEW YEAR wentbig!

Another fun option is a lever 22wmr.
I have a Ruger model 96 22wmr lever that is fun. Another lever option is a Henry.
I wish I could find a good affordable supply of 22 war.
          Good Luck

Do you wanna share where you were able to find DIRT CHEAP 22WMR?

I can't seem to find any that are not .30 a round or more. I would love to shoot mine more often but find it cheaper to shoot 223 so my WMR guns just sit.

Nathan, is there something about your CZ 512 you don't like? I'm the opposite of you in that I grew up shooting bolt action rimfires and now prefer semi's if the accuracy is there. I have a 512 .22 mag and it is as accurate as any bolt action I've ever shot. The only negative to me is the horrible trigger but my gunsmith fixed that.

I own 4 .22 Mags. I REALLY like them. They are not the most accurate
                in the stable. No .22 Mag can out-gun a .17 or a tweaked .22

The .22 Mag seems geared to the Minute of Pie-Plate. But .22 Mag
carries a BIG load so even a graze will do damage. On the range I no longer
shoot the .22 Mag ... got tired of explaining to the guy next to me why my
rounds are landing on his targets ... sort of a shooters/range joke there.

SO! Here is my take on this now. Buy into .17 or trick out a .22.
There just isn't any satisfying payback on .22 Mag ... it's sort of seen it's day.

I must have gotten lucky with my .22 mag. It is very accurate.

Wow, they must eat off really small pie plates where you come from. This is a typical 100-yard, 9-shot group from my Ruger American in .22 mag with cheap Simmons .22 mag 3x9 scope.
