Henry lever action or pump action?

Any recommendations? Nobody seems to mention their pump action 22 or 22mags rifles

I'm on a search for a Taurus 62, actually. Pump action 22s are hard to come by these days.

I have an older Rossi 22 pump and a Henry Goldenboy (lever)

I prefer the lever action more. More fun and engaging to shoot.

But the pump is fun as well. Being able to hold the trigger and just keep pumping away to shoot is a blast.

If I could only choose one though - it would be a lever gun.

I've had a Win 1906 and a Marlin 39 both sold many years ago so don't remember how they felt and how accurate they were. I remember the 1906 seem a little short for me though. Yeah two I should kept!!!

Bought my Son a Henry pump 22 mag for Christmas.
We'll be shooting it on the 26th. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I have the Henry H001. It's a basic 22 lever action and I've put numerous rounds through it. Loading the tube magazine is a bit of a pain. I've noticed two major issues with the magazine tube: 1. Make sure the tube is turned and the retaining pin is fully engaged or the tube is going to go flying downrange, and 2. I really don't like how your hand has to linger over the muzzle when you engage and disengage the magazine tube. Other than those short comings, it's a nice, well built and accurate rifle.

I have a Remington 12 and trap has a few different pumps to jog your memory. Love the 39 too but something about the old pumps is just cool to me. I will have a 39 when my father finally gives it up! Have shot the henry too but not side by side with a 39.

I have a Henry H001 as well (the big loop/lever version). It is even more fun to shoot than my wife's tacticool Sig 522. I replaced the front sight with a fiber optic version. Pretty darned accurate for what it is!

Exactly. You will buy one and then the other. No matter which you choose, they are both fun guns.

Henry has mastered the lever action... pump action, not so much. Have heard people having problems with jams/other reliability issues

Have to ask why the big loop? Better feel? Just want to have something different. Functions better. Rooster Cogburn look I see Henry sells the lever as a replacement part.
