Buckmark will likely be more accurate right out of the box. Even if you tweak the life out of the GSG, it will not be as accurate as the Buckmark.

But the Buckmark might not be quite as fun as shooting a handgun that has the ergonomics of a 1911. There is a little bit more of a fun factor with my GSG. It took several purchases from CW accessories to get my GSG to the accuracy it currently has, and even then, the buckmark will shoot tighter groups.

I bought my GSG mags off of eBay as long as they were vendors with spotless feedback.

I owned both a Buckmark and a GSG 1911. I sold the Buckmark and kept the GSG. For accuracy there is no comparison as the Buckmark wins out. For me, the GSG wins out in the fun department. The Buckmark is very accurate with a sweet trigger out of the box but the GSG is more fun. It just depends what you are looking for.

I bought extra mags on eBay also.

I have a GSG and like the others above said it is a lot of fun. It definitely won't outshoot my Mark II, but that isn't why I bought it.

I actually got mags from Sig (since the Sig 1911-22 is just a rebranded GSG) when they had them on sale for I think $20 each.

The Sig 1911-22 is just a rebranded GSG. When Sig decided not to carry it anymore, they sold the mags off. That was a good deal.

I got my GSG years ago and still have it, still shooting it. It's a very fun 22LR.

Mags should be readily available from numerous sites. I'd wait for 10% off or 20% off deals and grab them then.

Definitely not bullseye pistols but for look and feel of a full size GI 45
they are excellent. The sights are problematic because they are plastic
once I got some Dawson's on them they improved dramatically. YMMV

Get a ruger 22/45 instead. Best of both worlds. I have both and the gsg is crap. One of the purchases I kind of regret but I don't sell my guns so it just sits in the safe.

Like most 22s, its a little pickey with ammo. Not so much reliability, more with group sizes and group consistency. If you are just looking to plink, its a pretty decent buy. If you, some day, compete in a steel challenge type competition, you will find the buckmark to be a way superior firearm in almost every aspect except for the appearance.

I got a SIG 1911-22 for free a few years back when SIG Sauer had a "Buy a 1911, get a 1911-22 for free" promotion. It's just a rebranded GSG, and I agree with DS8. It's a pretty crappy gun. If I had paid money for it, I would have regretted it. I got some performance enhancement parts from CWA (http://www.cwaccessories.com/Products.html) which made it better, but there's no getting around the cheap zinc alloy metal and the lousy trigger. I'm not surprised that SIG Sauer discontinued them.

GSG .22 1911, was glad to get rid of it. Function/fit/finish was a POS in just about every way. The Buck is a far superior pistol if you want to hit what you're aiming at.

I actually enjoy my Sig 1911-22. Very much. Of course, that was after a trigger job and some CWA parts. But still...

Got extra mags from Greg Cote, LLC. I think around $20 or so each.
