    HELP!: Browning 1911-22 magazine disassembly

How do you disassemble the magazine for cleaning?
Any special tools to open them up?

It's one of those needs-three-hands jobs.

I would use a small flat blade screwdriver to push one side tab in, then wedge the screwdriver in the tab hole so the tab stays pushed in.
Then work the other two tabs using two more small flat blade screwdrivers.

    Or

Find / make two small blocks of wood, hard plastic or whatever that will fit in the side tab holes.
These should be tall enough to push the tabs in while still sticking out of the mag a little.
Use a small pair of vice grips.
Adjust the jaws so when clamped down the jaws push the blocks into the tab holes just deep enough for the tabs to clear the mag body.
Then push in the center tab and the baseplate will come out.
