I have a polymer 22 round magazine. Replaced my spring from h and k imports. New spring is causing it to miss feed in the chamber because I believe the tension on the spring is to strong and making the rounds seed wrong. Any fix for this? Leave the clip fully loaded over night? Thanks for any help you all can give 🙂😎

Are you saying the magazine holds 22 rounds?I have a polymer 22 round magazine. Replaced my spring from h and k imports. If you think the magazine spring is too stiff, load it and let it sit for about a week and retry. What is your reasoning for replacing the spring? -
Yes, it's for a gsg-5 .22 rifle. The spring that was in it was very week and not strong enough to engage the bolt hold stop upon firing the last round. They are two tabs that feed up the clip on either side and after the last round is shot it is supposed to engage it to hold open the bolt, eliminating a possible dry fire. I will try your advise as the springs only run 3.00 each. I got room for experimenting lol. There seems to.be way to much force pushing up on the bullet at this pointComment

Here's the pic of what is happening. Mind you I loaded the magazine up with the weak spring to the full capacity and the bolt closes like it's supposed to. The new spring makes it so my bolt closes only half way and stops. Bullet refusing to enter the chamberAttached FilesComment

So, if I understand correctly, with the old spring, the rounds fed properly but the bolt would not hold open after the last shot. The new spring does not allow proper feeding such that the bolt does not close on the round. Did it ever function properly? Is this new or used? Another way to ease the spring pressure is to clip coils off the spring. Go one coil or a half coil at a time and test after each clipping. At least the springs are cheap so it is not a disaster if you clip too much.
I missed the part about your good fortune of living in Arkansas. Please understand that your post will just make us jealous and envious.

You hit the nail on the head Manini. That's exactly what is going on. This is not a new gun but I have replaced many internal components already. The magazines used to function properly at one point. I will try to give it a clipping like you suggested and also I will try turning the spring around and trying again. When it comes to my guns I have ocd and want it functioning properly lol. Glad I found this site! Thank you for the advice, any helps at this point ☺☺☺Comment

One more thing to note is currently with this issue I am using browning hollow point performance ammo (bpr) running at 1435 fps. These are copper heads not wax coated. Not sure if this is high capacity magazine friendly ammo, if it isnt it may also be contributing to feed issues.Comment
