Beretta 87 Target pistol -- is one from 2003 OK ??

I have been looking at getting a Beretta 87 Target pistol.

I just found one that appears to be in excellent condition, but it was made in 2003.

Do you think this time of production (2003) is as good as the newer ones?

I just purchased a new one, (Beretta Model 87-T), and it's been flawless. I can't say about the older one's. One guy here has an older one, and he said the muzzle crown was off center. I don't know if he just got a bad one, or if there were issues with this on older models of the Model 87-T? I would check the gun over good, and shoot it if possible.
