I agree, if you try some salve or ointment on it, and stop picking at it, it should go away on its own. Whatever you do, don't scratch it. It will only make it worse.
In the future, this post probably would have been better in a medical forum, rather than in a gun enthusiast forum. Just sayin. -

I'm no doctor, but I was in the Navy. OP, that will not go away on its own. Get yourself to a doctor as soon as humanly possible.
