    Tactical Solutions Barrel... reliable?

I'm planning to change up my 10/22 a bit. I've been looking at the tactical solutions barrel for quite some time.

My current 10/22 is just a basic 10/22 with wood furniture. After the extractor upgrade (volquartsen), my 10/22 has been extremely reliable. I've shot 3x bucket o bullets and about thousand rounds of Remington thunderbolts with very very very very very few malfunctions... I remember i went through one bucket (1400) rounds with 2 fte. I want to do the same with the tactical solutions barrel. Someday i just want to plink and other days i want to shoot for groups. Anyone who has this barrel can chime in? Has it been reliable for all the rounds you shot through it?

Which TacSol barrel? They make several.

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

For that price I'd just buy a Kidd barrel

I have the same barrel, and it is extremely accurate for such a lightweight barrel. I mainly use it for steel comps, but it will easily shoot empty .22 cases at 15 yards. Depending on your usage I highly recommend it.

Nice company but after my 5th replacement for a buck mark barrel I got sick of emailing Colt their warranty guy.

it'll probably break. Steel is too hard/brittle.

                I keed.

I have the TS barrel on my my 10/22. It is accurate after 2yrs of Steel matches. My wife has a Kidd Lightweight barrel. I found that the chamber was tighter on the Kidd. HP Mini Mags were tight in the Kidd. My TS barrel is super reliable. I am very happy as I can go 6 months (approx 600 rounds per month) without any jams. Also, this barrel is lighter than the Kidd Lightweight if that matters to you.

FYI, the TS barrel you want is a .920 diameter. It will not fit without modifications to the standard stock.

TS makes great barrels, along with other companies. I have been thinking about Whistle Pig.
