KY Guns won't ship to CA WTF?????

Ordered a Heritage Rough Rider Birdshead grip 22/22mag for a knock around gun from KY Guns.

Didn't hear anything from them so sent an inquiry this is what I received:

    "Hello,

State laws says that heritage revolvers cannot go due to melting point law.

    Carol"

Are they THAT far up in the mountains, or just out of touch???? NEVER heard of such "Law" the rough riders are Roster EXEMPT, am I missing something????

    Addendum

From Heritage "their aluminum alloy frames won't pass any state law melting point requirements." This is the first I've heard of such a thing!

Turner's sells them, must have a higher melting point.

Most of the Heritage are the alloy frame (Zamak) versions, probably 90% that come here. I ordered that exact same gun from Buds and they shipped it no problem.

Very few states have melting point restrictions - IIRC only four states. So Heritage is correct when they say they will not pass any state law's melting point test, but KYGunCo is wrong to project non existent laws onto us in CA - as if we don't have enough real laws to worry about.

Ca has proposed melting point restrictions in the past, but so far as I can tell none ever passed. They came up with the roster instead. These are roster exempt.

most people who do not live in California have no idea what the gun laws are and refuse to look them up, I remember I was trying to buy a gun out of state every single shop I contacted refused but Atlantic firearms took my order.

I've had 2 issues with KYGUNCO where they said that they couldn't ship due to roster issues. One was a Ruger Single 10 and the other an S&W 41. In both cases I emailed them and told them about 1) single actions not being on the roster for the Single 10 and 2) Olympic exemption for the 41.

I figured, as stated above, that they probably had issues dealing with completely understanding the ever-changing labyrinthine CA laws. In both cases I included links to the appropriate sections of the CA PC in my email.

Within a few hours of my emails, both guns had cleared to ship.

              Maybe try this route?

I did send them an email indicating there is no "melting point" laws in CA and to please cite it if they have that information, and that the single action revolvers are Roster Exempt. I don't expect a reply until tomorrow though.
Plus the cheapo Blems seem to be sold out now anyway.
I also mentioned to KY they could have indicated the issue as soon as the order was placed, not left it in "processing for a week" with me thinking it was still going to be shipped!

Further I checked with Heritage Arms and told them the main compliant I've seen on the internet is the lack of steel framed revolvers in all their different models. The reply was "we're not aware of that situation".

Ha, I've not heard of melting point laws before!

I just got one of the 6.5" 9 shot 22lr/22mag heritage revolvers from their last blem sale. $151 shipped with a piece of junk nylon holster it'll live in!

I wish it had a real rear sight, instead of just the crappy groove. Probably wouldn't have bought it if I had noticed that.

I ordered some stripped ar15 lowers from kygunco and at first they cancelled my order and wouldnt ship. When I sent them the info showing it was legal, they apologized and sent them. Take it up with a manager there, I bet they make it right.

Was just looking for a cheap 22mag knock around revolver, they are no longer listed on KY's site so must be sold out.

Looks like the one with the crappy holster is sold out, but plenty of others are in stock.

Boy nothing like profiteering, $110 more than the blem price!
Think I'll wait to see how it plays out with KY. Have further info from them, may need to flip this thread over to the Legal Forum.
