    Ruger 10/22 Best OPTIC (Scope)

Just bought a Ruger 10/22 Carbine and want to scope it out. What is the best brand for a Rimfire? And I want something that lasts...anything from Burris, Nikon to Vortex through Leopold. Please let me know...thanks!

Thousands of rounds through my Simmons 3-9 and still making single holes at 50 yards and very good at 100 yards. Think I paid $70, and got the adjustable objective.

Pretty sure it was called 22 mag.

Make sure whatever you buy has the adjustable objective. Have a lot of Leupolds. Recently decided to try a Vortex on my .17HMR. Very pleased with it.

Nikon makes a very nice rimfire scope, a,bit pricy but nice. But for the price of that nikon, I'd probably go with a nice SWFA
WTB: Marlin 989 M2 stock (uncracked), and 989 M2 rifles
        Thanks

I used a Leupold 3-9x33 EFR with target knobs on our 20-inch factory bull barrel for a long time. The Leupold has recently been replaced by an SWFA 10x42mm which has a better reticle and more internal adjustments which allowed my daughter to shoot it out to 500 yards. (No, that's not a typo.) The farthest we could get with the Leupold was 400 before impacts were outside the view of the reticle. I've used Leupold, Vortex, Nightforce and this is my first SWFA. I shoot mostly precision and have replaced almost all of my Leupolds with Vortex. But the SWFA seems like it's a good value with qualities equal to higher-costing scopes and I think it is going to give my 10-22 a new lease on life.

Depends on how much or little you want to spend OP. I'm notoriously cheap. The best "cheap" scope I found was a Cabelas brand Caliber specific rimfire 3x9x40mm with drop reticle. My sons 10/22 with a Kidd trigger and that scope is a tack driver. They go for $99.00 but I got mine on sale for $50.

I'm sure their are much better scopes but I found this one to work great for me and the price is great.

I needed a couple and did some research last weekend. The Burris Droptine arrived in the mail today. Rings are still in transit.

This one is what I'm running on my 10/22. It's awesome! Once you get it dialed in, twisting a knob on the size automatically compensates for .22lr drop. I could aim the crosshairs at 50 yards and hit bullseye, then twist a knob and make the exact same shot at 100 yards and hit in the same spot. Very cool for an optic noob like me.

That's a loaded question OP... it really depends on what you want to do with it, and how much you want to spend. That also plays into some personal preference areas regarding what you find acceptable.

My 10/22 is a general purpose plinking rifle, survival rifle, light target, but I do like nice scopes.

I have a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x scope on it... I love the setup, and it makes target shooting a lot easier as I can good control over doping via the dials. I also run plinking ammo and match ammo, so maintaining two separate zeros are a walk in the park.

My brother didn't want to spend as much, but liked the low power variable quite a bit, I told him to throw on a Weaver 1-3x scope... he is still happy as a clam... that scope is very "set it and forget it" in comparison.

Those are my two recommendations based on what I like personally.

What ExtremeX said, that weaver 1-3 only weighs about 8 oz. put it in a dnz mount and you keep things light and handy

I'm looking for one that will also fit into the Ruger Takedown bag. Thanks
