Henry pump 22 mag impulse buy

So I'm in my LGS dropping off some $ I owed him (forgot my wallet the day before) and see this really nice Henry in the rack.
The owner decided to put it out for sale as he originally bought it for himself a while back.
This thing looks like it's going to be fun. I know 22mag is expensive bla, bla, bla.
So...what can you guys tell me about the painted finish on these Henry's?
As I'm getting ready to pass along a lot of firearms to my Son, I figure he'd like this as well. I must break it in for him first though

If it is made like the .22 lever actions it is a powder coated aluminum die casting. Durable, but you cannot treat it like a blued steel receiver.

The finish that was on my 22lr henry lever gun reminded me of some cheap camp cookware type of finish , it was "chipable"
I do not know what they are doing with the 22mag pumps , is it the same? I wouldn't know.
I liked the gun to a degree , shot good ........ but having a marlin 39 , made me realize , there were nicer ones out there ..... for me anyhow.
A 22MAG pump gun sure sounds like a neat and handy rifle to have around

        Good choice...!

.22 magnum is a hoot to shoot. I had to keep checking Midway, Cabelas, Brownells, etc and sometimes Ammoseek.com

Yesterday PSA has some CCI for $14.95

Bought a Henry for my daughter. Evil Roy model.

Very well made, lifetime Rifle in my opinion. Buy a silicon gun sock to
Keep it fresh and avoid safe rash....

          Hi there.... great impulse buy!

I don't have that exact model but I do know the receiver is strongly protected and the American Walnut used on the stock and fore end is gorgeous. You will really enjoy the smooth action on that thing!

If you do have any issues with the receiver wear, Henry is known for having tremendous customer service. Do yourself a favor and visit the Henry Rifle Forums (link below), join and post about any questions related to your Henry and you will have an answer pretty quickly. Those guys are Henry experts and will certainly help you out.
