    Smallbore Sillhuette

Tried my hand at it for the first time this weekend. Two rounds scoring a 19 and a 21. I do OK at Chickens and Pigs, suck at turkeys, come up 16 clicks and suck at rams too...

Is it just me or are those targets SMALL for freehand standing with no sling?

    Dang, I am humbled.

    That's great!

I was really into it in the 80's. I think my very first round was a 8 or 9 with a crappy scope on an old Mossberg . lol...had fun though.

Your rifle and ammo are the key (duh). You can do everything perfect and miss because your rifle/ammo shoots 1 1/4" instead of 3/4" groups.

One of the AAA shooters used a Remington 512 with a nice Leupold scope and Eley Target ammo, so you don't need to spend a fortune.

That's what I shot and did pretty well. But my 512 liked RWS ammo better so that's where experimenting pays off. 1/4" on those stupid turkeys is a lot.
It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.

    The title is....."United States Marine".
