Does anyone know if there is a way to tell the difference between a "new model" and an "old model" Ruger Single Six 22LR cylinder? I am looking for a 22LR cylinder for my new model single six, which I bought with only a 22 Mag cylinder in it. I am aware of the "potential" fitting issues and am trying not to buy something that I will ultimately have to resell. If I can't get what I want, I may just get one of the Story 8 round replacements sold by Midway for a buck 22 and change.

Single Six 22LR Cylinder
8 round story replacement cylinders work well. i got a gently used single 6 that was missing its 22wmr cylinder. my replacement 8 round story 22wmr cylinder needed $25 of gunsmith polishing and 200 range rounds to make it my smoothest and most accurate handgun. after happily using my story i cant help but wonder why ruger just doesnt make a single 8.
