As with any rimfire, buy a few different types of ammo and see what it likes. I've got one that LOVES everything CCI and only likes Hornady and Federal. All of the different types of CCI are same POI at 100 as each other out of mine.

A buddy has the same make and model that LOVES Hornady, and only likes CCI.

Great rifle, great round. Keep an eye out for sales. PSA recently had the CCI Green on sale for 8 bucks a box. I bought...a lot...

No recoil whatsoever - makes warm soda cans detonate with a satisfying 'pop'!

I can't imagine shooting a critter you plan on eating, but silly fun at the range; just buy lots of ammo.

Stock up on CCI TNT Lead Free for the impending lead free 2019. Unless you only want to shoot paper, then you have more options.

Plumbum, the CCI fmj rounds do great for edible game or when you want to recover a hide. In my gun, they shoot identical to all the other CCI stuff at 100 yards too
