    Semi-auto 10/22 in California

I am seriously considering a 10/22 now, specifically a semi-auto. I looked over the new constitutional infringements coming out of the legislature, and didn't see anything affecting semi-auto .22s. Am I correct that .22s are exempt from bullet buttons and assault weapon classification?

Also, are the Rugers considered a good choice? Any reason to choose the bull barrel over the standard barrel? I was looking at the takedowns.

I have a 10/22 takedown and I can tell you they r a lot of fun and still cheap to shoot. Imo it's a good gun to take new people to the range with and for experienced shooters to shoot with also.

If you see the keywords "center fire" in the legislation then you can be assured your "rimfire" firearm is not in scope there.

What about all of the others?

I didn't see anything affecting rimfire rifles, but I could be wrong. I have the standard barrel takedown and it works well and is pretty acurate. It returns to zero when the barrel is taken out and put it back together. One thing to consider about the takedown is that it doesn't have near the amount of aftermarket stocks and barrels that regular 10/22s have. Overall I would recommend it.
