    Ruger 10/22 advice.

Hi all. I'm very new to calguns so to preface my question, I apologize if I've broken any rules or posted in the wrong section.
I recently got a 10/22. It's not my first firearm, however it's the first modern firearm I have purchased. Every other gun I own is black powder. Now my question is this. I want to customize my new gun and make it a bullpup rifle. Are there any legal length requirements i have to make, and will I need a bullet button for it because it will now have "features". I've been able to find posts saying .22s are exempt from the bullet button law, but they're usually a few years old, and I'd rather not risk breaking the law if it has changed.

    Thank you!

P.S. Any other 10/22 upgrade recommendations are welcome too.

No need for a bullet button on a rimfire. Just make sure you stay legal on barrel length and overall length. 16" Barrel or longer, and 26" overall length in the shortest fireable position.

Remember, this is California. Re-check the laws every week.
