    High Standard W-105 Durango

One day, while at lunch, I stopped off at a pawn shop just to look around.
I saw a High Standard revolver in the case and thought it was a Double Nine.
A friend back in high school had one that we had a lot of fun plinking with.
I saw that the revolver was priced $99.95 so, I asked to take a look at it. The guy pulled it out of the case and told me that he could make me a deal on it if I wanted it. He said that someone had painted the gun and he wanted to sell it.
I asked what he would take for it. I was thinking $75, and that's what he said he wanted. So I told him I was thinking more like $65. He said he could do that so, I said "Now that's $65 out the door?" He thought about it and said ok.
So I would have to say that I got a pretty good deal.

I haven't had a chance to clean it up yet, but everything seems to be ok with it.
Do not relish to feel what the men that used these weapons felt when they saw the elephant. For the elephant has tusk and to see him is to have his tusk dig deep into your soul. You will always have a part of you that will be cold and empty.

Gunny, is that aluminum or nickle under the paint?
    Looks like a 1972 for a DOM.

The frame and grip are aluminum.
The grip frame is nickel plated but flaking off.

I picked up all my High Standard Sentinels for $100-150 in last ten years some in box, one is a JC Higgins. I occasionally come across the western style ones but I'm not interested in them. I find it interesting that female serial killer Aileen Wournos used one. In movie about her they used a S&W 617 with an integral lock.
