    Marlin 989m2 help

Well, I just bought a marlin 989m2 from an online retailer. When I went to the shop to dros the gun, I found that the stock was cracked all the way through the tang. :/

I've already contracted the retailer, but considering how rare this model is, I doubt they'll be able to do anything other than return it.

I want to keep it has its pretty cool piece. Anyone know of a place to get a replacement stock? I checked all the usual suspects (numrich, etc) with no luck

Pic from google. This pic was the driving force behind my purchase.

Try asking in the Marlin Forum on Rimfire Central, never know someone may have one lying around. Also check around to see if any local gunsmiths know of someone who might repair the stock.

Definitely will see if the stock can be repaired, but I have to say it's pretty messed up.

The stocks show up occasionally on Ebay and Gunbroker for the M2. I have a really nice M1 version. Not quite as rare though. The stock is probably actually easier to find than the original rear sights are

I lucked out on the sights, both look original. I'll take pics when I get it home.
