    Henry vs. CZ

I have been looking for a CZ American .22 for some time now. Then several weeks ago I won a Henry .22 at a sportsman dinner. I'm picking it up tomorrow after the 10 day wait.

I would like to have an accurate .22 for the range and occasionally in the field. I'm leaning towards the CZ because it simulates shooting a bolt action deer/elk gun.....but of course, I also have a few Browning BLR's as well. But....more bolt actions than lever.

Would I be better off just keeping the Henry or sell the Henry and pick up a CZ? I really only want to keep one at this time.

    Thanks,

How do you keep winning all these guns???

I am a big fan of my Lever gun, a BL-22. Seems pretty accurate and it's super light (5 lbs). Any more info on the Henry? They make a number of .22 levers...

The Henry is slick as butter, quick fun and accurate range toy. Perfect for a steel gallery and a brick of 22.

If you're looking for a precision tack driver and rodent eliminator, CZ 453 in 17hmr

Might as well get both since they fill different needs

I have a Henry 001 with the skinner sights on it. Great gun accurate enough. My kids favorite gun to shoot. My CZ 455 is in a completely different class.

Love the Henry but it feels like a toy compared to my Marlin 39a and is no where near as accurate.

The CZ out shoots both. Granted I use the CZ for silhouette. It definitely shoots better than me and can clover leaf the bulls eye at 50 yards.

Thanks guys. I had a CZ and foolishly sold it. I think the Henry, while a nice rifle, is likely headed to the Marketplace and I'll start looking again for a CZ.

Larry, you are a lucky guy for sure, I also have a Henry H001 just plain fun to shoot but won't hold a candle to the CZ accurate shooting. Go with the CZ.

I own both and kind of an apples to oranges comparison. Henry is a fun plinker and I like the lever action. The CZ is a much more accurate rifle. Glad I have both.

I agree with everyone here, get the Anschutz.

Of the two, CZ hands down.

A bolt action will almost always be more accurate then a lever gun, but the lever action will be faster on follow up shots.
All I know is my Henry h001 is eye of squirrel accurate and that just fine with me!

Whittaker Guns, and Buds Gun shop occasionally get in a shipment of 452 Americans. Not sure if they have any now.
I have a Henry H001 that I've had for several years, nice little plinker. I have three, 452 Americans that are much more accurate. I also have a 452 Lux, a 452 Scout, and a 455 Varmint, that are all very accurate.
If I had to part with any of my rimfires, the Henry, the 10/22's and the Marlin's would all go before any of my CZ's

Another vote for CZ. My 455 Trainer is a tack driver.

Got rid of my Marlin 795 for a CZ 455 American & am very pleased.

Also I have a BLL22. Lever gun & a nice accurate bolt gun; couldn't ask for more. Well that and I'm waiting on the .22mag barrel to use on the CZ....

My CZ 452 in .17 hm2 is the most accurate rim fire I've ever owned. Go for the CZ!

                              Never get rid of a gun, especially a .22. I love .22s
