CZ 455 American, 200 yards, son shooting, father spotting...

The weather was good at Angeles, albeit gusty down range. Corrections had to be made every few shots.

On a calm moment, my son was on the rifle, and I was giving corrections as the spotter, we pulled off a lucky feat at 200 yards.

Our best group ever at 200. CCI Mini Mags 36gr, Nikon P-Rimfire 2-7, and the CZ 455.

That center shot we couldn't even see from the spotter. We were so surprised when it showed up during target retrieval.

Awesome! That's a great day when you can spend some time with your son and take him shooting. He is quite the marksman.

Impressive! Great times with your son too. My son and I always have a blast at the range no matter if we are target shooting or competing in tactical matches. Enjoy and great shooting! My CZ 455 with integrally suppressed barrel will hopefully arrive before Halloween!

I miss the days of shooting with my son, but they grow up and move away and on to life of their own. I'm sure he has many good memories though. If the sun light was right I could see 22's going down range when spotting, they're moving slow enough compared to centerfire.

Did your son put clicks on the scope or just change his hold point. I preferred changing hold point once it was close.

Our scope, the Nikon P-Rimfire is not good for holdovers. There are no reference points except the BDC which is funky. We were turning turrets I'm teaching him to shoot even longer ranges with another rifle so it works out ok.

You're always going to group better dialing in your sights versus a holdover. Some reticles are pretty good for holdover (e.g., Mildot, those silly Horus reticles, etc.) but there is wisdom in maintaining a consistent sight picture, if you've got the time.

Nice grouping. .22 LR is a remarkably accurate round for what it is. It's just kinda slow.

^^^ the 22 lr is our training platform. We can shoot it till our fingers hurt

This is from another part of the day. We were shooting and AR to 600 yards.
