Picked up a Marlin 781 from a fellow Calgunner that I pick up from jail next week. Anyone here own one? From my playing with it in the FFL, it seems to be well made. How's the accuracy? The only other rimfire rifle I've ever shot is my 10/22. Is it safe to dry fire? I was scared to in the store so I didn't bother and am wondering how the trigger is. Any other tips or opinions are always welcomed of course!

They're really nice and usually have a nice stock.
I don't have one, but I have a 783 (22 WMR) so basically the same thing.
Shoots itty-bitty holes in the target.
I don't dry-fire any of my .22's without a #4 drywall anchor in the chamber.
Kind of a PITA with a bolt-action, but I have a little OCD.
It cannot be inherited, nor can it ever be purchased.
You and no one alive can buy it for any price. It is impossible to rent and cannot be lent.
You alone and our own have earned it with...Your sweat, blood and lives. You own it forever.
The title is....."United States Marine".
