    17 WSM

I'm in the market for a 17 WSM. I'm looking at the W-W 1885. Anyone here have any experience with this rifle?

    thanks

Is that the winchester low-wall? Color case-hardened beautiful gun. I've only seen pictures and lusted.

It sounds nice, you'll love the round fast and hard hitting.

I'm looking for one too, for target shooting at the local range. Looking at the Savage BMag but not sure which model to get.

We just finished a review, with video, a couple of weeks ago:

Be forewarned, there are dead animals all over that page, and in the video!

Saw the review. I'm disappointed in the accuracy department. What do you attribute that too?

A couple of things. I only mounted a 3x9 variable scope on it, which could have been part of the issue (although, I shoot lower power scopes often, and normally don't run into accuracy issues). The other reason may be the way the forearm is attached, which can probably be modified, but you shouldn't have to do that on a $1400 rifle. Btw, The empty brass I shot was at 75 yards, so it was accurate enough to knock them off with no problems.

This was all done with the 20 grain bullet offering.
