M&P 15-22 CA compliant features - bullet button? high capacity mag?

    Hi,

I'm looking to buy an M&P 15-22. Does it has CA compliant features such as a bullet button and restriction to use a standard...I mean "high" capacity mag that is over 10 rounds?

    Thank you!

    1) A 22 does not need Bullet button.
    2) In Kalifornistan, you can only get 10 round mags for the rifle.

Be careful... A 22lr AR pistol does indeed require a bullet button. It is only 22lr rifles that do not.

Rimfire rifles are not affected by CA assault weapons laws.

Therefore, the only thing to be concerned about is the length requirements.
Minimum barrel length of 16" and minimum overall length of 26".

Large capacity magazine restrictions apply to rimfire firearms.
^Exemptions for .22 caliber firearms with a fixed tubular magazine and for lever-action firearms with a fixed tubular magazine.

Why can't it use standard mags? I believe i have a tube fed that holds 14 or 15. Is that illegal?

For whatever reason my M&P 15-22 came with a pinned stock. Maybe other state compliance?

When I got my 15-22 from Turners, it had a collapsible stock and regular magazine release and a 10 round mag.

Large capacity magazine restrictions apply to rimfire firearms.
^Exemptions for .22 caliber firearms with a fixed tubular magazine [PC 16740(b)] and for lever-action firearms with a fixed tubular magazine [PC 16740(c)].

Because the S&W M&P-15/22 uses a detachable magazine, it can not be transferred to non-exempt persons (LEO, etc) with magazines that have a capacity of 11+ rounds. [PC 32310(a)] Which is why the S&W M&P-15/22 is sold with 10 round magazines in CA.

                  Penal Code 16740
As used in this part, "large-capacity magazine" means any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, but shall not be construed to include any of the following:
                  (a) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.
                  (b) A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.
                  (c) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

                  Penal Code 32310
                  (a) Except as provided in Article 2 (commencing with Section 32400) of this chapter and in Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17700) of Division 2 of Title 2, commencing January 1, 2000, any person in this state who manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, lends, buys, or receives any large-capacity magazine is punishable by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year or imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170.
                  (b) For purposes of this section, "manufacturing" includes both fabricating a magazine and assembling a magazine from a combination of parts, including, but not limited to, the body, spring, follower, and floor plate or end plate, to be a fully functioning large-capacity magazine.
