ID this Browning Buckmark and questions...

Hello All, new to the forum.

I bought this Buckmark today for plinking and perhaps some Steel shooting eventually and I have a few questions:

Can someone tell me which model it is and approx year of manufacture or point me to some website that can? And what kind of scope is on it?

I looked around a bit for a Buckmark Forum however did not find one that looked like it was very active. Looking for a good forum that would discuss Buckmarks and / or Steel shooting where I can learn more about those subjects.

I won't be able to pick up the handgun for several more days however I want to learn about it, get the disassembly manual, find good sources of aftermarket parts etc.

    Thanks,
    Michael

It says that it includes the box on the tag, it probably has the model number on it. So you should have asked to see it.

Looks like a Railed 5.5 inch Heavy Round barrel Buck Mark Target w/ adj. rear sight.
    Nice looking model!

The serial number is what is going to be needed to date it accurately.

Buckmarks don't have a huge number of aftermarket parts but there are some..
The largest variety of aftermarket parts is probably grips.
Tandomkross just came out with a trigger (and has some other things):
Get the best upgrades for Browning Buck Mark from TANDEMKROSS, offering Browning BuckMark accessories and Buck Mark parts for your rimfire pistol.

Tacsol has replacement barrels and parts:
Skillfully crafted for precision, ensuring accuracy with each shot. Delivering excellence one shot at a time...

    Manual:

    Dis-assembly:

Good pistols, my grandfather has one just like it but slab side barrel that I learned to shoot pistol with.

Edit to add: Scope looks like a Tasco Accu-dot or something along those lines. Again there should be markings on it somewhere that will help you look it up. IMO I would probably replace with something more modern which will be smaller/lighter (Primary Arms, Vortex, etc)

Thanks Chaos, I'm hoping to be able to visit it in the next few days and I'll take more photos and get the serial number.

The shop did show me the box however it was just a generic white box, no markings. I'll also ask if the tag meant they have the original box as well, I doubt it but you never know.

      Thanks again!
      Michael

Weird about the box. It should have a gray or black plastic clamshell box...

Edit: Oh and welcome to Calguns! Great purchase!

Gun would not fit into original box anymore once the scope was added.
              Ask me how I know...LOL.

Scope sure looks like a Tasco Pro Point, that was made in several generations.
My Buckmark has a PDP3, that has a smaller battery case than the earlier ones.
There was a PDP1 and 2, yours should be one of those.

              Yes, great purchase, OP!
You will find it accurate and easy to hit with.
              Almost like cheating.

HAH! Good point! But IMO if a gunshop tag says "box included" I'm going to automatically think its the original, though I now see that is a bit of an assumption.

The serial number is 655NV09928 which puts it as the 9,928th Buckmark in 1995. The stocks on it felt quite fat for my small hands so the first thing I'm going to look for are some stocks. And find some extra clips. And a gun rug. The list is growing... ha ha
