    Savage bmag stock

Does anyone know of a stock that will fit the bmag other than one from Boyd's? I've tried google and the only thing that comes up is from them.

    What's wrong with a Boyds?

Nothing really, just looking for other options. I looked at all the different stocks I could before choosing the magpul for my 10/22. And I'd rather buy from a manufacturer that is willing to ship to california.

Boyds ships to ca. I just got two more a couple weeks ago. I think they don't ship the "pistol grip" looking stocks.

Thanks for the info, I will look into that closer. I was going by some of the information I've seen on here about them not shipping to california.

Just read through a savage shooters thread about boyds stocks and the bmag. Appears to not have much affect on accuracy. Doesn't seem to be many other options though.

We're you hoping to get yours to shoot better, or just wanted to change the stock?

Just want to change the stock, the gun is still in jail and I wasn't fond of the factory synthetic stock that it comes with. Plus I have synthetic stocks on every other bolt gun I own so I want to go with a laminated one for once.

I hear ya. I like laminate stocks myself. Boyds has some cool options you can get a custom stock for pretty cheap.

I don't have anything with a laminate stock yet. I figure this is a good one to do it to since they are fairly inexpensive. I'm still planning on picking up a stainless 10/22 and changing whatever stock it comes with to a walnut or maple burl stock.

I have a BMag Stainless bull mounted in a Boyds rimfire Varmint (tacticool) in black laminate - there is no problem with accuracy at all (certainly comparable with 17 HSM when I shoot 25 grain) and I am quite happy with the inletting and finish of the stock.

I probably will do some minor bedding, but I did not do so initially and none seems to be required.

For honesty. there are a few minor issues. What appeared to be a twist in my BMag composite stock showed up exactly the same in the Boyds stock. The barrel inlet needed some sanding to get a consistent gap between forearm and barrel beyond the action lug a little sanding fixed that right up. The BMag Rotary magazine is not flush mounted in the Boyds stock , but it was not really flush in the plastic savage stock. The walls of the magwell are kind of thin, but not fragile. I'm pretty happy with the Boyds stock, would certainly buy it again.

I did a stainless 10/22 (actually more of a Kidd than a Ruger) in a blue laminate rimfire varmint that I could not be happier with. I was not looking for a pistol grip or thumbhole, so that issue did not come up for me.

I guess my CZ 455 is also in a Boyds Rimfire Varmint in the textured black, that one is nicely pillar bedded and epoxy bedded under the action.
