    First time smallbore silhouette

    Good afternoon folks!

I'm going to try my hand at a club smallbore silhouette this weekend. Can anybody tell me what kind of elevation I should be dialing for high velocity 22LR out of a 24" barrel? Or if I should zero at say, turkeys and then hold dead on for everything?

    Noob needs to know!

    Thank you

Looks like you have a legitimate reason to skip work tomorrow and go to the range and sight in your rifle at each of the ranges, so you will have your confirmed drops for the match.

If I recall there is ample time to practice before the match.

Then your boss should understand you skipping work. Just a suggestion, if you do, don't shoot a higher score than his.

You should get lots of sighters/sight in time. Are you shooting with irons or a scope?

If irons, do you have rear peep sight with good clicks? And if a front globe there are some interesting inserts for those.

If a scope do you have a mil dot or ballistic recticle? That can be useful too.

By far the bigger factor will be how steady you can hold. No hard back shooting coats or slings allowed in silhouette small bore.

I have better results with std velocity(1200+/-) 40gr rn. for those matches.Usually a 50 yard zero and you should expect about a 4 to 6 inch drop at 100 meters. (109 yds). My CZ really likes AR Tactical CCI ammo. Don't be afraid to buy a number of different varieties of ammo and see what groups best out of your rifle. No substitute for trigger time.
