    Marlin XT-22 hex head size?

Like the title says, I can't figure out the size for the hex head on my XT-22 to remove the trigger, receiver, stock.

I have a ton of hex head wrenches, but none are the right size. I checked Marlin's site, and found nothing.

I did a bunch of shooting in the rain this weekend, and need to get it apart to clean it properly. (Just attended my first Appleseed, and it was awesome even though the weather sucked.)

      My Marlin 795 is a #10 star/asterisk shaped head.

Thanks for the reply... Mine's definitely a hex head. I may just have to buy a complete set to find one that fits.

Thinks it's a 3.5. I can't remember exactly but someone mentioned it here on the boards. i bought a set at harbor freight as other sets in the big box stores didn't have that size in their sets etc

Found this on a Marlin forum.

My 795, bought on Black Friday in November, also has socket head screws. I actually prefer them, since most socket head screws are of a higher quality than the average slot head screw and normally aren't as easy to bugger up. Just pick up a 9/64" Allen wrench and toss it into your gun case, shooting bag, or whatever you normally take out with you, and you'll be all set.

            good luck

Awesome! Thank you!!! I tried a 1/8" and a 3/16," and of course neither worked. I didn't want to start guessing at the size, and Home Depot frowns upon bringing a rifle into the store to find the right size tool.

9/64" it is. I just got one, and it worked perfectly! Thanks for the help.
