I am happy to announce that I had an almost perfect experiance with my new Savage A17 . I mounted a take off Bushnelli from a savage axis combo I picked up a while back(you like that Bushnelli name don't ya lol)and a bipod and then did the cleaning procedure and greased the gun with the recommended by Savage synthetic grease in the spots they recommended Before I took it out .
I went to make the first test shot and the cartridge failed to load I had that feeling of oh crap I got a troubled one but I was wrong . I then removed the magazine and cycled the bolt and paid better attention when putting the mag in correctly and did not have any more issues after that. Spent about 15 rounds getting the scope dialed in and then from there on it was a tac driver. I freaking love this thing . It will shoot the A17 ammo through the same holes at a hundred yards very easily and to be honest I'm a crappy shot . I also had tons of fun shooting clays laid out on the ground and then shooting the remaining chunks after ones already been shot and busted up . I cant wait to get a new Vortex for it and try to reach out farther just for fun . I have to admit though I'm not in a huge hurry for a new scope since it shoots so well with the budget Bushnelli . I am disappointed that when the kids cleaned up the spent brass and targets they "forgot" to save me my target so I could show you guys . Here is a picture of the Rifle on my messy bench .
