Scope suggestions for ruger 10/22 target

I am waiting to pick up a new Ruger 10/22 target rifle and I am wanting some suggestions for a scope for it. I will be shooting outdoors and probably at 100 yards. I am not wanting to break the bank but I don't mind spending on quality. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Can you give us an idea of what breaking the bank is versus not?

It looks just plain beastly and the extra heft up front does help manage recoil a bit better. Plus, an angel told me that when God called JMB to heaven it was to build him a full rail 1911!

I would like to say 200.00/ish is my desired budget.

I like my Nikon rimfire scope. It tracks well, and the free app is bomb.

For 100 yards or less with a 10/22, go Tech Sights. A scope is not necessary at those ranges.

Otherwise, Leupold and Nikon rimfire scopes...

            And an Appleseed course.

Have to agree on the Nikon Prostaff Rimfire. http://www.nikonsportoptics.com/en/n...e-bdc-150.html

I went Nikon Prostaff for a 10/22 Target build as well, the 4-12x40mm with BDC 150 reticle. The whole thing is living inside a Volquartsen stock I randomly stumbled across for a song on eBay.

BSA scopes have been good to me. Sure theres better but for the money you cant go wrong, I got my 3x9x40 for 80 bucks, it does an excellent job for stuff at your desired range.

Mueller APV 4.5-14x40 can be had from Amazon for $115. Has parallax adjustable objective, and the 14x power makes it great for target shooting.

I do purchase many inexpensive scopes. After all, not every rifle I buy can afford a $300-$500 Leupold.

One of the criteria for me for buying inexpensive optics is hassle free customer service. Never had to use it but Mueller gets rave reviews.

I stay away from inexpensive scopes from Simmons and Bushnell. They sell millions of scopes yet my personal experience from their CS was unsatisfactory.

Nikon scopes are my everyday go to scope. Never had a problem with any that I purchased.

The Nikon Prostaff EFR is also an excellent choice. Only 3-9x, but small, compact, and has adjustable parallax objective.

Finally, I really like UTG scopes for fun range rifles. They sell tons of them on Amazon and get mostly great reviews. I have had good luck with the 2 that I have purchased. For about $75. the 3-9x Bug Busters is super tacticool! It's compact, has adjustable parallax and has an illuminated reticle. I accepted the risk when I bought this cheap scope and it hasn't disappointed me.

                      Hope this helps.
                      Good luck.

In that price range, another vote for the Nikon Prostaff EFR. I have one on a Ruger American Rimfire 22lr and another on a Marlin 22 Mag. If you have good ammo and do your job you can consistently hit golfballs with 22lr at 75-100 yards outdoors. This is one of the least expensive scopes that I have and it continues to impress, especially with the type of reticle it has. Add lifetime warranty and you cannot go wrong!

                            It's not PTSD, it's nostalgia.

I see Mueller Tactical 8-32x44 scopes selling new on ebay for $235, free shipping, no tax. The nice thing about a 30X+ scope is that you never have to carry a spotting scope to see your shots. I can read fine print on a target (1/16"-1/8") clearly with my T-36, unless it's hot (heat waves).
