    Updated Tactical Crickett Rifles

Well, I'm taking the Grandkids out to shoot this weekend, so I decided to update the stocks on their rifles. Originally, one was black and the other pink, but they both love camouflage, so I put new stocks on for them. The oldest grandson loves his black stock, but he's starting to outgrow it, so I might have to put an adult stock on it.

I got my granddaughter matching eat protection too. Still looking for a good set for my grandsons.

    Stylish little snipers.........

My oldest granddaughter is 10. She's been shooting since she was 7 and really loves it. I started her off with balloons and clay pigeons for targets. There is instant feedback when they break/pop that seems to help when they are young. She really loves the spinning steel ones that I have. She's giving her older brother some competition in the accuracy department too. He's 12 and has been shooting since he was 5. The youngest grandson is 8 and has been shooting for 2 years. He is the most enthusiastic of the three of them.

In addition to their Crickett Rifles, I got them each a 10/22 a couple of years ago. Turners had them on sale for $179 and I was able to get consecutive serial numbers on them. The oldest is the only one to have shot his so far. The others just aren't quite big enough for the longer rifle yet. I just put a camo stock on the youngest grandson's 10/22. He loves anything camo. I just ordered a "Muddy Girl" camo stock for my 10 year old granddaughter's 10/22. She loves that pattern.

My youngest granddaughter is only two. I'm going to start her collection soon. I already have a pink Crickett and 10/22 stock for hers once I get the rifles.

I'm sitting here watching tv with them right now. I got my granddaughter new ear protection today that matches the pattern on her rifle stock. I'm trying to find the Muddy Girl Hogue stock for her 10/22. She got to see the new stock today and really liked it.

Mine too. My 3 Granddaughters are still too young. Liked your suggestions on targets to start them with.

I'm in Arizona now and am thinking about some Tannerite.

                  Never tried it before...

Today was a great day. The kids put about 500 rounds down range. The oldest has moved from his Crickett to his 10/22. After shooting it, we've decided that a different stock would be appropriate. He really likes the Hogue Overmold.

Found some nice BLM land to shoot on about 15 minutes down the I-10. Probably have until May before it gets too hot.

I sure hope the .22 supply eases up a bit here soon.

Cool, a Cricket was my two oldest Kids first about 20 years back. Still have it.

It is a pain to load though with large fingers. Even small ones for that matter.

Ron you kind of remind me of my grandfather he got me started with bb guns and 22 cal pellets I was about 4 or 5 years old he gave me my first guns my favorite model 60 22lr and some of his war bring backs but those were stolen by a family member at his funeral but I still have my model 60 and have shot it a lot. It always brings back memories of good times and where I'm getting is after you have moved on to the great beyond it will give them memories of youband the best times of there lives.

Yeah, my dad and grandpa taught me to shoot. I started off on a Marlin Model 60 and a Ruger Single Six. Both were later stolen in a burglary around 1980 and never recovered, even though the serial numbers were reported to the Sheriff's Department. I was working a different station at the time, but one of my buddies took the report. Last time I checked AFS before I retired, they were still listed in AFS as stolen. Maybe someday I'll get them back.

The next week my dad went out and bought a safe. I still have that safe and it works great.

I took them out again on Monday and we went thru another 500 rounds. It was a lot of fun.

After shooting, we went to the Gila River Arena and saw the Coyotes beat the Montreal Canadiens. Great game.
