    22/45 competition target model scope base questions

    I have a slab sided, 6 7/8" barreled, 22/45 competition target model.

    I have the box and test she'll, but it looks like it didn't come with a scope rail. The receiver has the three plug screws, so it's tapped.

    I just bought a Burris fast fire 3, and am thinking about just putting on a rail. Will a take off rail for mk1-3 and 22/45, according to the listings on eBay, work?

    Any other option I should look at?

      Instead of adding a rail which will put the sight even higher above the bore, get the Maddmacs mount:

          The Majestic is nice. Had a couple of hiccups but easy fix & Majestic CS is GTG.

          If you don't mind needing to file a slot or two if the standard positions don't work the standard Ruger rail is a bit more rounded. I think it might be a bit lighter as well.

          Watch the rear hole. It is through drilled and if your screw is too long you can bind up your bolt.

              Wow, I'd never heard of them. Well, I grabbed a ruger picatinny rail off evil bay, a new take off with screws for about that price.
