I have never really shot a .22 before I own several .45s.
I restored a Hi Standard Model A and on the side of the gun it reads "22 Cal Long Rifle." My friend gave me a small box of Remington Yellow Jacket 22 hyper velocity" - but it does not read "Long Rifle" on the box anywhere. When I look online the Yellow Jacket ammo has "Long Rifle" on the boxes.
I bought 500 rounds of "Federal 22 Long Rifle Target Grade Performance" rounds but they will not feed from the magazine to the gun. The box clearly reads "Long Rifle."
Did I buy the correct ammo and the rounds just wont feed because it is just one of those things with older guns? (WW2 era).
Why does the ammo that works not read "Long Rifle" on the box somewhere? It looks to be the same size as the other ammo.
The rounds look very similar, except the Yellow Jacket has a tapered bullet.
Sorry for the remedial question, but I do not want to waste money on another box of ammo until I know what I need.
I am pretty sure this is what I want...
Thanks for any help!
