I've owned Marlin XT-22TR (sold it) and I currently have the CZ 452. The craftsmanship of the CZ 452 is noticeably better than the Marlin XT-22. The CZ 452 is out of production so you'll have to buy a used one. Or you can go with CZ 455, which is in production, but it doesn't come with iron sights. It's only couple hundred more than the XT-22.

There are several CZ 455 models (e.g., Lux, Trainer, etc.) that DO have iron sights.

The point of going to a bolt action, in my opinion, is to use better ammo and obtain better accuracy. I'd recommend using good quality ammo, and spend a little more on your bolt action 22lr since you won't be shooting nearly as high a quantity as your semi. On a budget, I'd recommend the CZ bolts.

The CZ 452 is reported to be out of production but there are still plenty of them around. Buds gun shop has the American, Lux, and the Ultra Lux in stock. From time to time Buds or Whittakers in Kentucky gets a shipment in. The 452 is a fine firearm as well as the 455 and some of the 455's come with iron sights. For the money, you cannot find a better rimfire.
