I have a 1701P and Avanti (Daisy) 747. Both are quite accurate with good pellets (like, accurate enough that you would have to shoot off bags to see differences in group size - offhand you can be sure that the accuracy is up to your abilities). You have to decide if you want PCP or pump. The 1701P is easy to fill to 3000 with a handpump because its reservoir is small. Both have Lothar barrels. I generally shoot those little 3/4" stickers at 10M, and with practice you can routinely hit them with either gun.

I feel both have made me much better at target shooting my Model 41 at 25 and 50yds offhand, though I don't compete in pistols. The Hammerlis and FWBs are nice but I would rather spend the delta on Eley or other target rimfire ammo.
