GSG 1911 qusetions

I purchased a GSG 1911 and would like to know which front sight blade everyone ended up using? Is there anything I should know before I change out the blade? Do I need to re-align it or does just the blade come off?

Anything else you can give me clue on would also be great.

If you change the blade you will have to relight the pistol in for both elevation and windage. They are plastic and remove easily. Just go and shoot it they are a blast to shoot. Too bad ammo is not as cheap as it used to be.

The medium height sight works fine for me. If you change the sight, you must of course sight the gun again to verify that the change you made is correct for the way you shoot. Fun gun. How is it shooting? Which sight are you thinking of changing to?

I am using medium height front sight as well

I installed this fibre optic by Dawson,it's very close to the medium height
and shoots fine at 25 yds. It's really nice for using outside in natural light.

But ammo is out there. When I was moving my ammo cans, I found more than I thought I had. Then I scored 3 333 bulk boxes at Wallymart.

A common complaint for the GSG 1911 is that the finish does not wear well. On mine, the finish was rubbing off where the slide slips into the dust cover. Periodically check that area. I lightly sanded the inside of the dust cover to reduce/eliminate contact with the slide. After more than 15k rounds, I'm okay with the wear and tear on this pistol.
