    22 Mag rifle

It's been quite a while since I've plunkered down for a new gun. I've been on the look out for a Marlin tube fed bolt gun in .22LR preferably built pre-Remington. Since one hasn't found me yet, I'm thinking a 22 mag rifle is in order. My thoughts are a Ruger American Rimfire compact. Thought I'd ask you all if there's any others I should look at.

Precision-made rimfire firearms and accessories for competition, varmint hunting, and recreation.

Click the link and take a serious look at Volquartsen. I really enjoy my .22 magnum.

A bit pricey , but as with all things in life, you get what you pay for.

There are quite a few posts on this subject on rimfirecentral.com
Look down about have the page to "ruger american rimfire"
Most people seem to like them. Good value for the $$$.
Next step up would be a CZ455 in 22mag.

I have a tube fed Sears/Marlin .22LR, vintage 1963. I also have a RAR in standard 22" barrel in 22 Mag, and like it a lot. The plastic stock had to go in favor of a Boyds walnut one. It shoots well, love that rotary mag, easy to service, and Ruger's customer service excellence is a bonus. A lot of bang for the buck.

What is your intended use for the 22 mag rifle?

Can't go wrong with the older Marlin 783, 883, 883SS.

I have one of these, shoots sub-moa -

I have a Marlin 882 magazine fed rifle. It shoots best with the "regular" Win Super-X 40 gr HSP bullets. I spent a lot of money on the more expensive ammo, but the basic stuff shoots best. It will only go about 1.5" at 100 yards. I have a Win 9422M lever action that loves the Win Supreme lighter bullet ammo and shoots twice as good as the Marlin, even after I put a Rifle Basix trigger on the Marlin. A friend has a heavy barreled Savage in .22 Mag and it likes the 40 gr and even the Federal 50 gr loads best. Each rimfire is a law unto itself as to what will shoot best from it.

Winchester Model 255, tube fed lever action might be another choice.

I have been wanting a 22 mag rifle for some time. I almost went with the Ruger American but I first learned to shoot with a lever action so I went with a Henry lever action in 22 mag. I just picked it up yesterday. I cannot wait to get it to the range this weekend.
Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.

A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.

Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?
