Trigger upgrade recommendation on CZ 455 Varmint

Just pick up CZ 455 Varmint.
Intended to use for some plinking and some target shooting.

Thinking about upgrading the trigger and did some search and candidates that are mentioned the most are YoDave, DIP and Riflebasix.

Anyone here have any personal experience with any of these products in CZ rimfire rifle. I have one Marlin and one Savage rimfire rifle that uses Riflebasix trigger and I did notice much improvements on trigger pull.

I tried the Yo Dave, and it helped, but I ended up with the Rifle Basix in my CZ 452 Varmint. I have it set for about 8 oz - but I only shoot it off the bench and for prairie dogs/ground squirrels off bags. I never carry it loaded, and even carry it with the bolt open. My CZ beats Coopers pretty often at my club, especially at 100 yards.

Start with the Yodave kit and play around with the different shims and springs until you're happy. I've done three CZ triggers with the Yodave kits and each one needed a different combo. If it doesn't work out in the end...you're out $20 bucks and have a better understanding of how your rifle works?

I'm very happy with the Yodave kits but have no experience with the others in a CZ. Don't forget that you can still adjust the Yodave spring with the factory CZ spring adjustment nut.

No need to waste money on the YoDave kit. Take your trigger spring to your local hardware store and get a compression spring the same length and diameter but made of lighter wire. Or you can get springs from Fastenal. If I recall the A159, A160, and A161 were the three sizes I got. They will give a trigger from 4 ozs to about a pound or a little more. Be sure to do the "bump" test to make sure it is safe. After you get the spring you want if there is too much creep do the "poor mans trigger job" found in the stickies on Rimfire Central, CZ/Brno section.

I picked up a 455 American last week and the trigger is pretty crummy. Plenty of grit and creep. I'll have to get working on it.

Rifle Basix, over priced but works and easy to install.
Timney is good but you must enlarge the trigger living space. Inletting was a pain on my .17 452 rifle. Both are good.

That works good also, a lot of the hardware stores have the springs, but are marked something else.

I used a Yodave kit to get the trigger to around 1.1 lbs and it passes the bump test for me. Any lower and the trigger would go off with bumps.

I really wish someone would make like a quality 2 stage trigger for the CZs.

Some of the 455's came with a set trigger but there were problems with them so they were recalled. Haven't heard anything about it in more than a year. You can always buy a CZ 453, they all have a two stage trigger. The two stage trigger comes handy if you use the same firearm for hunting and shooting from a bench, but if using it for a single purpose the spring can be replaced to accomodate hunting or shooting from a bench, so no need for set trigger.

I went the Fastenal route on my 3 452's and have a 4th on the way that will receive one as well. I am getting 1.5 lbs average on each pull. It's as light as I need it while still being safe.

I think I used 162A springs but I will have to check. Total cost was around 2 bucks for a few and I cannot imagine spending the amount needed for a rifle basix or similar....

i used a brooks kit in my 452 and found i had to adjust it heavier as it was too light for my applications.

i have one of the earlier 452's and the standard trigger was pretty good as it was...i just wanted "Lighter" and found i didn't really "Need" lighter...

I have done two CZ452's with one YODAVE KIT and if the stars align might get one more. I'm completely satisfied.
