    Win Model 63 "custom"

I know it has been "ruined" since it is not original, but I still like this Winchester Model 63 that I was given by the grandson of the man who did the woodwork. Beautiful checkered steel grip cap too. The scope is a steel tube Weaver K 2.5

The furniture is stunning! That's a real beauty.

It surprises me, though, how many people tell me that it is worthless (or ruined) since it is no longer collectible. To me, it a beautiful piece of work and being unique, is certainly valuable to me.

Worthless would be a Bubba job.
That, is not a Bubba job; that is beautiful!

          Hardly "ruined".Upgraded very nicely.

          Bubba was not present.

If that's ruined, sign me up. I have an old sporterized 03A3 that I bought used dirt cheap. Some people would call it ruined, but whoever did the work knew what they were doing. Most people forget that classics start out as off the shelf regular stuff, they don't become classic until far in the future. Gunsmiths used to buy surplus rifles/pistols dirt cheap and put some time into them. The customer got a good deal and the gunsmith made a little money Would anybody call an old Pachmayr or Swenson custom 1911 ruined, not if they knew what they were looking at. Your rifle looks beautiful to me.
